Hamilton Russell Vineyards Chardonnay 2014

Golden-hued and aromatic, with musky peach, lime zest and a breath of clove. Bone dry and tightly-knit on the palate, the acidity is bracing and precise, framing flavors of nut oil, citrus pith and stone fruit in a distinctly Burgundian register. Light-footed and long, though firmly shut down at this stage, there's real depth here that hasn't fully surfaced yet. Give it two to three years minimum. Hamilton Russell's track record with this wine is well established, and the 2014 will reward patience.
