Muga Rioja Rosado 2013

Pale salmon in the glass — a 60% garnacha, 30% viura and 10% tempranillo blend that spent two months in 1,000-liter American oak vats. Strawberry, redcurrant and a faint spiced edge on the nose, fresh and precise. With air, tangy red berry gives way to cherry stone and a quiet herbal thread. The finish has genuine grip and length, more structured and serious than the typical rosado — and all the better for it.
