Dried cherry and leather notes emerge readily, but this Rio Sordo lacks the structure and depth typical of the cru. Forward fruit character with gentle tannins makes for pleasant drinking now, though it won't reward extended cellaring. A serviceable but unremarkable effort from a producer capable of much more.
