Alheit Vineyards Cartology Bush Vines White Wine 2013

Old bush vine Chenin Blanc and Sémillon in its infancy. Pale straw in the glass, with quiet aromas of lemon curd, pear, honeysuckle and lanolin, a faint trace of redcurrant adding an unexpected lift. Mid-weight on the palate, with quince, dried herbs and stone fruit threaded through by an understated umami salinity. Unassuming at first, but the finish lingers longer than you expect.
