Dark, brooding Amarone from Masi's single-vineyard Campolongo di Torbe. Black plum, tobacco, grilled herbs and dark chocolate, with a rich, velvety weight that speaks to the dried-grape process. Tart cherry and raspberry cut through the concentration, underpinned by lively acidity and a mineral backbone that keeps the wine from feeling overblown. It closes long and balsamic, trailing savory autumnal spice and a pleasantly bitter edge. The Campolongo di Torbe sits on the darker, fuller end of the Amarone spectrum — rounder and more plush than many of its peers.
