Giacomo Fenocchio Barolo Cannubi 2012

Red cherry and tobacco show appealing depth, but coarse tannins undermine what should be Cannubi's hallmark finesse. The aromatics deliver. Wildflowers and sweet fruit build nicely. Yet the palate lacks the silky texture that separates great Cannubi from ordinary Barolo. Solid effort that would impress from a lesser site, but this revered cru demands refinement this wine doesn't possess.
