Renato Ratti Barolo Conca 2011

Rich and full-throttle, the 2011 Conca is Barolo in an indulgent mood. Black plum, dark cherry and mocha lead, layered with smoke, leather and a deep undercurrent of dark spice. The scale here is considerable, opulent fruit, plush weight, and a concentration that grips the senses from entry to finish. It lacks nothing in intensity; whether further bottle age brings added finesse remains the open question. Drink 2018–2035.
