Piero Busso Barbaresco Gallina 2011

Dark, muscular, and deeply concentrated, this is Busso at his most serious. The Gallina vineyard delivers brooding black fruit, mentholated herbs, and a core of spiced plum, with leather, smoke, and tobacco adding layers of depth. Tannins are firm and gripping, though the finish opens into something rich and almost creamy. Give it another year or two for those tannins to settle further.
