Plush and open-handed, leading with black cherry, boysenberry and sweet vanilla, the signature of an oak regime that runs through six months in large French vats and 18 months in new small French casks. That wood is felt in the generous, cushioned texture, though the wine carries it without feeling heavy or overwrought.
