Roberto Voerzio Barolo Brunate 2010

Silky and refined — Brunate doesn't always show this kind of finesse, but the 2010 vintage has smoothed its typically muscular frame into something genuinely beautiful. Pine needle, menthol and licorice open the nose, followed by black cherry and ripe plum with a dark, brooding depth. The texture is polished and generous, the tannins present but supple, carrying real concentration through to a long, composed finish. This is Voerzio's Brunate at its most poised.
