Savory and faintly wild, this is a wine that pulls you in with its strangeness. Wild strawberry, spiced citrus and sour cherry are dusted with powdered sugar and threaded through with dried flowers and earthy undergrowth. The texture is soft and approachable, with salty mineral notes and a bitter coffee edge keeping things honest. It doesn't quite resolve: a green streak runs through the finish alongside cherry pits and savory spice, and the whole thing tapers off before it fully lands. A product of circumstance, after heavy rains in 2010, Quintarelli chose to declassify their Amarone fruit and channel it into this rendition of Rosso del Bepi instead.
