Oddero Barbaresco Gallina 2009

Deeper color than the 2010, with a richer, more saturated ruby. Raspberry, truffle, and dried violets on the nose — riper and more generous than its sibling vintage. On the mouth, earth and truffle flavors come through with appealing sweetness and weight, though there's a rougher edge here that gives the wine a more rustic character. Dusty tannins close out a finish of good length. More opulent than the 2010, if a touch less refined.
