Muga Aro 2009

A 70/30 Tempranillo-Graciano blend, aged 19 months in new French oak. Dark cherry, blackberry and candied violet up front, with cracked pepper and a thread of vanilla from the oak. With air it broadens and darkens, smoke, licorice and spice cake layering in behind the fruit. Tannins are soft but present, giving the finish a gentle grip without interrupting the flow. Suave drinking now, but there's enough density and structure here to develop further over the next several years.
