Renato Ratti Barolo Conca 2008

Dried rose petals, red cherry, cinnamon and a touch of dried herbs, the Conca shows noticeably more lift and freshness than its Marcenasco sibling. Mid-weight and graceful, with the French oak woven in seamlessly rather than announced. Still wound tight and very much in its youth, but the underlying balance is already evident. Give it time.
