Dark cherry, dried violet, fresh herbs and a flicker of spice on the nose — the Cabernet component adding a subtle green edge alongside Corvina's characteristic red fruit softness. On the lighter side for a Quintarelli, this 2008 Primofiore trades the house's usual density for something more translucent and approachable. Drink it now while the fruit is still intact; it won't gain from further cellaring. A fine entry point to what Quintarelli does — the blend of 50% Corvina/Corvinone and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon/Franc makes for an accessible, genuinely enjoyable glass.
