Straightforward Tempranillo, two years in American oak, and it shows, dark plum, cassis and licorice on the nose, with coconut and cracked pepper adding a familiar Rioja warmth. Generous and full-bodied in the mouth, the fruit opens up with air and reveals genuine depth beneath the oak's influence. Tannins are smooth and well-knit, the structure comfortable rather than demanding. A smoky, lingering finish trails vanilla and mocha. Drinking well now.
