Ripe and inviting on the nose — dark cherry, black raspberry, candied violet and a cola-mocha undercurrent that gives it a heady, almost opulent quality. Full and generous across the mid-palate, with plush dark fruit offset by a bitter cherry edge and a peppery lift on the finish. The tannins are supple and well-integrated, holding the wine's shape without any roughness. A confident performance from Artadi given the challenges of the 2008 vintage.
