Travaglini Gattinara Riserva 2007

Darker and more concentrated than the regular bottling, this Riserva leans into the muscle of the 2007 vintage rather than finesse. Smoke, scorched iron and a thread of tar emerge gradually, opening up with air. The tannins are firm, perhaps a degree more insistent than the wine's depth fully justifies, but the structure is undeniably there. A Gattinara built for patience.
