Villero shows genuine fruit intensity up front, dark cherry, dried rose and a touch of iron, but the aromatics carry a distracting volatile edge that undermines the wine's overall balance. There's enough substance here to drink well over the next few years, though it falls short of what this vineyard is capable of delivering.
