Dense and brooding from this prime site near Mastrojanni's Schiena d'Asino vineyard. Black fruit mingles with espresso, dried herbs and worn leather in classic southern Montalcino fashion. The palate shows impressive concentration and weight, though the warm 2007 vintage pushes the alcohol forward. Built for the long haul despite its youthful power. Drink 2015-2027.
