Harsh, unyielding tannins overwhelm whatever fruit remains in this austere Barbaresco. The nose shows faded rose petals and tart cherry, but the palate turns angular and dry, with astringent tannins that clamp down hard on the finish. Lacks the concentration to balance its rigid structure. A disappointing effort from an otherwise reliable producer.
