Dark red fruit, dried cherry, blackberry, a touch of dried rose, with firm, well-knit tannins that have more grip than the Marcenasco. The oak integration is seamless for the vintage, never overstepping. Sweet menthol and warm spice drift through the finish, which is composed rather than showy. A distinguished effort from Ratti, and one worth holding.
