Oddero Barolo Villero 2005

Dark cherry, dried roses, iron-flecked earth and baking spice — Villero's fingerprints are here, if not at full volume. There's genuine depth and a pleasing richness to the fruit, with everything knitting together through a long, composed finish. The balance is sound, but the wine stops just short of the brooding intensity and character this storied cru can produce in its finest expressions.
