Six years in cask — and you can feel every one of them. The nose is wild and savory: grilled herbs, tobacco, menthol and licorice wound through layers of dark fruit with a distinctly rustic edge that is pure Quintarelli. There's nothing polished or calculated here, just enormous character and a personality that few producers at this level could match. A standout vintage for Valpolicella, and a wine that rewards patience.
