Oddero Barolo Villero 2004

Bright and lifted for the vintage, the Villero leads with menthol, violet and black cherry, underscored by licorice and a dusting of sweet spice. Medium-bodied and firm, with tannins that are still grippy and unyielding — this is a wine demanding patience rather than rewarding it now. A solid, commendable effort from Oddero that will repay cellaring.
