Deep inky ruby. The nose alone justifies the reputation, fresh rose, dried violet, wild strawberry, raspberry, blackcurrant, cured meat, iron and graphite converge in a bouquet that evokes the best of Hermitage and grand cru Vosne-Romanée simultaneously. On the palate, lush, almost sappy red and dark fruit saturates every layer, with soft tannins providing just enough structure to keep the richness in check. The finish is long, deeply stratified, and seemingly reluctant to close. El Pisón at its most seductive.
