Dark cherry and black raspberry, laced with licorice, cocoa, and a pronounced limestone minerality that immediately signals this wine's origins. El Pisón comes from vines planted in 1945 on pure calcareous soils, and that geology is written all over the glass — given air, the wine opens into something creamy and sappy, with a fruit purity that couldn't come from anywhere else. Fine-grained tannins and a smooth, composed finish set it apart from the Grandes Añadas; where that wine leans into sweetness, this one turns inward, quieter and more focused. The chalk isn't a background note here — it's the spine of the whole thing.
