Gosset Grand Millesime 1996

Concentrated citrus rind, resinous spice and waxy depth open this serious 1996. Tightly coiled acidity gives the wine a fierce, almost combative energy, there's real extract here, but it doesn't give itself away easily. Less openly generous than Gosset's house style typically allows, the vintage's steely spine keeps everything locked down. This needs time, and plenty of it, give it another decade at minimum before revisiting.
