History
Rob Wilkinson grows the fruit; Anthill Farms buys it and Anthony Filiberti makes the wine. Anthill was founded in 2003 by three Williams Selyem alumni and has built its name on cold sites bought rather than owned, of which this is the coldest in ripening terms.
The Site
A southwest-facing slope at 500 feet on Goldridge soil, cool enough that it is consistently the last of Anthill's Sonoma County Pinot Noir sites to come in.
Vines and Blocks
Pinot Noir across the planting, farmed by the grower to Anthill's picking calendar rather than to a calendar of its own.
The Wines
Anthill Farms' Jack Hill Pinot Noir runs to around 150 cases in a typical year at low alcohol, the 2022 at 13.1 per cent, aged a year in about thirty per cent new oak.
