History
Kistler Vineyards has drawn its Cuvee Natalie Pinot Noir from Silver Belt since 2006. The winery's own materials say little about whether the site is estate land or grower-farmed, which is unusual for a house that names its sources plainly elsewhere.
The Site
One of the rare uplifts of older iron-oxide-driven soil in the district, mixed through with gravel. The appellation on the label has not been consistent across vintages, with Kistler's own site giving Russian River Valley for several releases and other years appearing under a broader Sonoma designation.
Vines and Blocks
Pinot Noir in the Calera and Swan selections, both older California heritage clones rather than the Dijon numbers that dominate newer plantings.
