History
The vineyard is the source of the Pinot Noir Kistler formerly labeled simply Kistler Vineyard, renamed Laguna Ridge from the 2006 era of the program; the Laguna Ridge Chardonnay joined from 2015, bottled in recent vintages exclusively in magnum. The name also belongs to the wider Laguna Ridge neighborhood of the Russian River Valley, where Joseph Swan planted the area's first Pinot Noir, and to an unrelated Balletto estate planting; this page is the Kistler site.
The Site
The ridge sits above the Laguna de Santa Rosa south of Trenton, on layers of sandstone, granular sediments and shards of petrified wood, ground that yields the lowest pH wine in Kistler's lineup.

Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the only Kistler site carrying both.
The Wines
Kistler's Laguna Ridge pair is mainline Russian River in pedigree but coastal in cut: a saline, tightly wound Chardonnay and a perfumed, structured Pinot Noir from the same crest.
