Sea View Ridge

Sea View Ridge is the second Flowers estate, a chaotic mosaic of small blocks fragmented across the steep topography around the Camp Meeting Ridge complex.

History

Flowers developed Sea View Ridge in the 2000s as the expansion of its original ridge estate, planting wherever the terrain allowed rather than in contiguous fields. The vineyard shares the 28500 Seaview Road property with Camp Meeting Ridge.

The Site

About 42 planted acres scatter across eleven separately mapped fields on the ridge system, at elevations from roughly 1,000 feet to the local crest near 1,300 feet. The blocks sit above the fog line on thin ridge soils, fully exposed to Pacific wind.

Vines and Blocks

Pinot Noir leads, joined by a rare coastal planting of Pinot Meunier. The highest block on the northern crest is farmed as Cielo, the sky block, the most wind-whipped ground on the property.

The Wines

Sea View Ridge bottlings are the leaner, more nervous siblings of Camp Meeting Ridge: bright, floral, structured by wind-thickened skins and long cold seasons.
