History
The vineyard was planted to Alban-selection Grenache in the late 2000s; the producer's own materials are not consistent on the exact year. Angela Osborne's Grace Wine Company bought fruit here for six years from the larger of its two sections before taking the whole site on as a monopole in 2021. The land itself belongs to Leif and Kimmy Hertzog and Whit Latimer; Grace leases and farms it.
The Site
Just under two acres, 1.98 by the producer's count, on sandy loam off Refugio Road in the eastern Santa Ynez Valley. The wines are labelled Santa Ynez Valley, not Los Olivos District, despite the site's position near that appellation's ground.
Vines and Blocks
Eighty-seven rows of Grenache in the Alban selection, farmed by Chris King and Francisco Ramirez. The planting was not originally laid out as the single uniform block it is often described as.
The Wines
A Tribute to Grace is the sole producer. The wine is fermented on native yeast with around forty-seven per cent whole cluster, trodden by foot daily, and aged eleven months in neutral French oak.
