Position and Extent
The site lies on the Cond flank, on the ground rising toward the Pinnerkreuz, the cross and lookout above the district. The most concrete marker is an address: Wein- und Sektgut Rademacher, at Pinnerstraße 10 in Cond, trades under the name Am Herrenberg and sits at the foot of the slope.
Our einzellagen layer delimits 60.28 hectares, one of the larger polygons in the Bereich Burg Cochem. Delimited ground and published planted area always diverge here, since the second counts vines rather than boundaries, and in this case the divergence is total: the Landwirtschaftskammer register of planted vineyard for the 2024 harvest carries no entry for a Herrenberg at Cochem. What it does record for the town is modest and scattered, 7.6 hectares in the Klostergarten and 2.5 in the Schlossberg, 6.4 in the Cond Rosenberg and 4.2 in the Nikolausberg, with the Bischofsstuhl, Hochlay, Sonnenberg and Pinnerkreuzberg all withheld from publication as single-owner holdings. Cochem's vineyard as a whole is usually put at around 64 hectares, which is very little for a town of its fame.
Who Bottles It
Rademacher is the estate the name is attached to, and has released Cochemer Herrenberg Riesling across the full sweetness range: a dry cuvée labelled Solitär, halbtrocken and Kabinett halbtrocken versions, a lieblich, and a Prestige edelsüss. The estate pairs winemaking with a Gutsschänke and guest rooms, the standard arrangement in a town where tourism carries much of the trade.
Beyond that, published material on the site is close to nonexistent. No serious tasting literature attaches to it, and no VDP classification applies, the VDP register listing no classified parcel anywhere at Cochem. Any confident account of a house style from this vineyard would be invention rather than reporting.
